I lived near Luton airport. one day I decide to go for some refreshments and explore new things so that I learned something new. I do like to explore and learn about new things. so finally I booked the company cab for my journey. first I decided to go to Calshot Castle because many times I planned about it. but several times messed it. now must have to go. because I was so eager to get here.

so the driver delivered me very comfortably to that location. so finally I completed my desire. that place was very attractive and very historical the castle was many years old. I so enjoyed it. I will share some good experiences of this place. His charming castle is located in the coastal community of Calshot in Southampton, Hampshire, England. This charming village offers the ideal setting for a leisurely family day at the beach. Henry VIII built Calshot Castle, an artillery fort, on the Calshot Spit in Hampshire, England, between 1539 and 1540. It was a component of the King's Device program, which was designed to defend Southampton Water where it met the Solent and ward off invasions from France and the Holy Roman Empire. The castle had a curtain wall, a moat, and a keep in the middle. It was initially well-equipped, with a garrison of 16 people and up to 36 artillery pieces. The castle was still in use for a long time after the English Civil War, and it underwent extensive modernization in the 1770s. The coastguard used Calshot Castle as a base to fight smuggling in the nineteenth century.

Calshot Castle served primarily as a base for seaplanes that were sent on anti-submarine patrols in the English Channel during World War One; its guns were removed before the war's end, probably to be used in France. During the years between the wars, the air base, by then known as RAF Calshot, expanded in size and began to host the Schneider Trophy air races. Calshot was rearmed in preparation for a potential German invasion after the Second World War began. After the war, the station was still in operation, but it was finally shut down in 1961 as military seaplanes were rendered obsolete. Calshot Castle's defensive function persisted throughout the first decade of the 20th century.

To accommodate two of the castle's quick-firing guns on its roof, the keep was redesigned in 1907. The Southampton Water boom was replaced by a plan to block Southampton Water with a boom made up of floating hulks two years after a new, lighter "ladder" boom was installed in 1907. According to a plan from 1910, the castle would need 10 officers and 154 soldiers to occupy it during a war, 75 of whom would need to live nearby rather than inside the fort. Additional naval personnel would also be required to staff the boom support vessels.
